This paper suggests a simple (date I saw obvious?) idea of how to organize authority data in online catalogs. The idea presented would be obvious to anyone who has used an relational database, but it is rarely used in today's catalogs. The paper gives historical context for this idea, and, most importantly, discusses how it might be implemented using MARC data.

Variations on a Basque Melody, for mandolin, by Victor Kioulaphides. The performer, Ferdinand Binnedijik, appears to just be a young kid, but he plays very well!

A well executed performance of the Andante from the first duet of Carlo Munier's '3 Duetti Concertanti' Op. 9.

I would very much like to be able to play my octave mandolin like this. (Although it looks like he is playing not an octave mandolin but a five string mandola.)

I wish I knew more about this song...the poster on you tube calls it "Mic Check" and describes it as "almost impossible to find". I'm not all that familiar with Imogen Heaps work, but I can't imagine that such an amazing performance would be kept hidden away.

Description from YouTube info:
"Hier soll ich dich denn sehen", Belmonte's Entrance Aria & Duet with Osmin(Die Entfuhrung aus dem Serail, Act 1)

Sung by the late South African tenor, Deon van der Walt. RIP.

Mozart Salzburg Festival, 1988 or 1989. Sparse sets, goofy backdrops, and odd props, but great singing! I apologize for the audio. I taped it off PBS in 1989 in EP mode (before I knew any better).

Belmonte: Deon van der Walt
Konstanze: Inga Nielsen
Blonde: Lillian Watson
Pedrillo: Heinz Zednik
Osmin: Kurt Rydl
Pasha Selim: Ulrich Wildgruber
